“Atmosphere” is a collection made up of six lamps obtained from the base of two violins
I found these rough shapes of stringed musical instruments, such as violins and cellos, in a luthier’s workshop. Each shape had its own particularity that inspired me with beauty and uniqueness, even in its rough, incomplete state, full of cracks and notches, even in its most solitary and seemingly useless form.
I preserved that uniqueness by transforming it into particularity, preserving what was on the wood, such as names, numbers, measurements, sketches.
Taking inspiration from “Notturno per violoncello e pianoforte op.14 mo.1″” by composer Auguste Franchomme, I created “Nocturne” – Floor lamp made from the shape of a Violincello.
